The ultra modern Nhow is Europe’s first music hotel with a state-of-the-art recording studio and guitars on the room service menu, offering the surreal setting and striking architecture. Situated directly on the Spree, the hotel is right at the heart of the creative scene of Berlin’s Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg districts, showcasing a clear view of the Molecule Man and of the characteristically shaped Oberbaum Bridge which links the areas Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg.
The hotel’s facade was carefully designed to maintain the building's industrial style, while the 8th to 10th floors, which project into space for 21 metres above the banks of the Spree, seem an echo of Berlin’s old city port area. The result has been an overall idea that emphasises contrasts, based on the tension between the rather strict architectural style and the cheerfully playful interior design of the building.
Hotel guests are greeted in the lobby by a visually engaging reception desk with the sensuous sculpture made of a high gloss fiberglass with inset lighting. Furniture throughout the common areas take on a neon color scheme, with wallpaper and carpet patterns clashing in a stimulating way.
Next to the lobby guests will find the “Fabrics” Restaurant, with a design characterised by bright and friendly colours, serving modern German-French cuisine of the highest quality - made from carefully selected ingredients and with a regional accent. In fine weather guests will be tempted to take meals on the terrace, which measures 400 square metres and offers direct access to the Spree. This is a place for guests to enjoy the sun – the terrace extends around the building on the southern and western sides. The hotel’s bar regularly hosts international and local DJs, and there is loads of room for chilling out on over 1000 m² of terrace.
In the fitness area, over two levels, guests can work on their fitness regime or simply relax. As well as an area furnished with fitness and cardio equipment, a Finnish sauna, biosauna, steam bath and rest area are also available. For those who work in the music industry, this hotel offers two recording studios in line with international standards and furnished to the highest technical level. The centerpiece of the hotel’s creative floor is the generous lounge, located next to the studios, capable of being divided up into separate areas and offering a superb view of the Spree.
Featuring the spectacular design and cutting-edge technology, every one of the 304 rooms is a source of inspiration and at the same time the perfect retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. Every room has wireless Internet and over 5,000 videos-on-demand - along with all the current connection cables and charging stations for PCs, Macs and iPods. A high-end sound system provides unbeatable audio quality - while special, 30-cm-thick mattresses offer complete relaxation and a deep, rejuvenating sleep. |
