The Hotel Monica is a charming hotel with a friendly atmosphere. It is located in the peaceful Branik district, south of Prague’s city centre. Getting to the city takes about 30 minutes – ten minutes to walk to the tram stop, followed by a 10-15 minutes’ tram ride. Although the Hotel Monica is not centrally located, it does have something that many of Prague’s 3-star hotels do not – an outdoor pool, which is especially welcoming when you’re visiting Prague in the summer. There are deck chairs around the pool too. Because of the hotel’s down-to-earth and cosy decoration, you’ll feel as if you’re staying at someone’s home rather than a hotel, albeit a big home. Bedrooms are also comfortable and welcoming. Each has an en-suite bathroom with hairdryer, satellite TV, minibar, direct-dial telephone and Internet access. International and Czech cuisine are served at the hotel’s restaurant, which also has a terrace dining area. The hotel does not have lift access though, but that’s a small price to pay, when you consider the hotel’s welcoming atmosphere and peaceful location.
