Established in 1968 by the pioneers of tourism in the Valley of Turrialba, Aracelly and Marcial Garcia, with a futuristic vision, opened the restaurant, and later the lodge, at a vantage point in a strategically located hill 780 meters above sea level, 100 kilometers from the exotic Caribbean beaches and 70 kilometers from San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. Due to the tourism that whitewater rafting, beautiful virgin river banks and crystalline waters of the Reventazon and Pacuare rivers attracted to the Turrialba zone, it was decided that it was moment to contribute and to grow and decided to offer lodging services to the thousands of tourists that visit Turrialba. The simple, charming rooms were constructed using wood, giving it a rustic feel with the modern conveniences of a private bathroom and warm shower. Our rooms are decorated with colorful, locally made bedspreads and artwork by artists in Turrialba. From the balcony, there are incredible views of the landscape, the Valley of Turrialba, the majestic Turrialba Volcano, and the Talamanca Mountain Range. The rooms are located on the second floor of the building, and resemble the style used in the large, farm houses in the area, that were built around the same time period as the construction of the railroad to the Caribbean, during the last century. With a rich history of excellence and tradition, the Turrialtico Restaurant opened to the public in 1968 by Aracelly and Marcial Garcia, pioneers of the tourism industry in Turrialba. The Turrialtico Restaurant has a rich history of excellence and tradition. The founders were visionary seeing the potential and attractiveness of the valley. Strategically located on a hill above the valley overlooking the town of Turrialba, this open air restaurant allows you to sit anywhere and still enjoy the incredible views of the landscape. To the west lays the Turrialba Volcano, to the South Angostura Lake, fields of sugarcane and coffee with majestic Talamanca Mountain Range in the background, and to the east and the north more coffee farms and mountains. | |
