General Description | |
Run away from the bustling packed West street of Yangshuo, follow the road, the flow of the river, see the elegant hills, the crisp clear water during the 16km trip to the little farming village Luoyue Wan ( the moon set bay). Located between the mountains and the cannel, about 100 families remain in this traditional village while most of the youth left their old home where they grew up with their parents and grandparents. They left the silence dimgrey roof tiles, aging earth colored walls, while the old man still smoke his bamboo water pipe by the door, simply watching the sun rise and set, watching the seasons come and go. The guest house is located at the north corner of the village, a landlord’s manor which dates back 200years since the Qing dynasty era. The wooden shrine and fort along with the houses and the land was assigned to 16 families during the revolution who’s descendants are still in the village. 15rooms are available for rent. Each has been renovated while maintaining the original look and feel. They were adapted into a guest house, not luxurious, not fashionable, it simply represents the famous Chinese poem“pick up eastern rose near my fence, carefree and content looking at the mountain to my south”Look far through the window, a farmer finishing his day, walking slowly behind his water buffalo and dog on the quiet road, steam and smoke rises from small kitchens. It’s twilight hour. The distance between the road and fields starts to blur, the mountain peaks melt into the star light. The local chatter and distant barks create a calming atmosphere. Time to feast! This description is based on information provided by the B&B / inn. | |
