Established in 1894 by Colonel Eaton (Civil War), Colonial Inn is in the Wequetonsing summer area, within walking distance of quaint restaurants and shops, and approximately 75 miles northeast of Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City. Mackinaw City is a one hour drive away. Among white clapboard turn-of-the-century edifices, the inn is walking distance to downtown.
