Just around the bend is the Old First Church... and up Monument Avenue with its stately old Colonials is the Bennington Monument. A short ride to the top provides a panoramic tri-state view. then ther are three covered bridges... and more... We're just across the way from Hemmings Motor News, and a short drive to 18 holes panoramic golf or a quick-paced match of tennis. March back into history at the Bennington Battlefield in nearby Walloomsac. New York. Antique, craft and gift shops will lure you by day; and in the evening visit Bennington's Art Center which presents exhibits and theatre the year 'round. To the north of us near Manchester there's Equinox Skyline Drive for truly outstanding views, and perhaps a picnic lunch high above the valley where Hildene (the home of Robert Todd Lincoln) can be toured. Norman Rockwell fans love the museum in Arlington. Then there's hiking the Long Trail, or perhaps a swim in crystal Lake Shaftsbury. If you stay long enough there's cross-country skiing at nearby Prospect Mouain, just one of the well-known slopes within 30 miles of the Bennington Motor Inn (including Bromley, Brodie, Stratton and Mt. Snow.)
