History Of Tasodalar
Edirne had been conquered by the Ottomans in 1362 and the first Ottoman palace had been built in Kavak square where the Selimiye Mosque is located now in Edirne. The Tasodalar is one of the mansions which belongs to the Palace . According to records of historians, II. Mehmet ( Mehmet the conquerer ) had been born in that mansion in 29 March 1432 in the Tasodalar. The Tasodalar has been called with that name for 600 years in historical records. After building of new palace in Sarayici, the Tasodalar had become the residence of Beys and pashas , Terlikci (slipper seller) Mehmet and his family had used to live in Tasodalar between the years of 1876 and 1965 The Tasodalar was expropriated by the National Foundation in 1965. After its Restoration, the Tasodalar was hired by Cakay Company in 2006. The Tasodalar was decorated with the furnitures which are original to its historical structure . The Tasodalar has been serving with its 9 rooms for the tourism of Edirne and Turkey. |
