Approx. 4.3 km/2.7 miles to the north are numerous 13th and 14th century churches in the village of Varosh. Of particular note are the 12th century St. Nikola Church and Holy Archangels Monastery. From Varosh it’s a 30 minute hike to the ruins of the medieval fortress Markovi kuli, or Prince Marko’s Towers.
