Acres Wild Cheesemaking Farm is a 22 acre organic cheesemaking family-farmstay in the hill station of Coonoor, Nilgiris, India. It is 6000 feet above sea level with a cool climate and an amazing valley view. Yet it is only 3 kilometers from the bus stand within Coonoor Town which is known for its tea estates and pristine bio-sphere zones.
We have 2 farmstay cottages (total 3 rooms). Rooms have bay-windows, wooden floors, solar water heating, attached bathrooms. Dining and kitchen are a part of the cottages.
There are 2 natural ponds on our property that has fish, ducks and geese.
The most unique feature of our farm is that we make gourmet cheeses like Gouda, Cheddar, Monterey Jack and Camembert. We also conduct cheesemaking courses only for our farmstay guests if they so wish to enroll for it. This makes it possible for our visitors to have a unique experience and also to learn and participate in all our farm activities.
Breakfast is complimentary and consists of choice of eggs, toast, our cheese, our butter, jam, muesli with milk and fresh fruits. Special Indian style dishes or sandwiches for vegetarians.
Lunch and Dinner can be ordered to fixed menu a day before.
Veg Meal: 2 kinds of vegetables, pulses and rice, Indian roti or paratha, salad and dessert.
Non-Veg: same as above with one chicken/fish/beef dish.
