 Location
The hotel is situated in the beautiful small traditional fishing village resort of Elounda, located on the shore of Mirabello Bay just north of the famous town of Aghios Nikolaos which is just a short drive away. Across from the hotel there is a small island called Spinalonga, where the ruins of an ancient Venetian fortress provide an exciting attraction for many tourists during the summer months. The hotel is surrounded by tavernas and kafenions.
Facilities
In the colourful Cretan gardens, the whitewashed bungalows slope away from the unobtrusive main building down to the private sandy cove. Breathtaking views over the islands and cascading pools add to the exotic charm of this resort. This is an ideal hotel with a variety of entertainment venues. The idea of the hotel is that it is a 'hotel for couples', however a limited number of children are accepted (maximum 12 children). The beach resort was renovated in 2008 and has a total of 208 rooms. Guests are welcomed into a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service. There is a TV lounge and restaurant on the premises. Internet access is also provided.
Rooms
All standard rooms have an en suite bathroom with bath/shower, WC, bathrobes, slippers and hairdryer. There is a direct dial telephone, LCD flat-screen satellite TV with music channels, mini hifi system with radio and CD player, DVD player (on request), CD/DVD library (available upon request), WLAN Internet access and a safe. Air conditioning and heating are standard in all rooms. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, as is a fully stocked premium minibar (with charges according to beverage consumption). There is a pillow menu as well as a turn down service (maid's twice-daily service). Each room has its own balcony or terrace.
Sports/Entertainment
There are 3 swimming pools at the hotel, one of which is outdoors. Water aerobics classes are offered and there is also a poolside snack bar. Guests may recline on sun loungers or relax under parasols. There is a sauna on site, and for an additional fee guests may book a massage. Table tennis and pool/snooker are also on offer. There is a wide range of water sports that guests may try on the beach, including waterskiing, jet skiing, windsurfing, motor boating, banana boating, sailing and canoeing (fees apply for all these activities). On dry land guests may also play tennis and golf or go on a bike ride (fees also apply).
The hotel offers guests a range of activities including a morning gym, aerobics, Sirtaki dance lessons, hiking, Greek language lessons, cooking lessons, wine tasting and exploring the local culture. The hotel's entertainment programme has plenty more offer, including folklore shows, a hotel band, dancing evenings and performances by professional dance troupes.
