Welcome to Bowen House A warm Yorkshire welcome awaits you at Bowen House, Diane and Peter want to make your stay with them and in the City of York one to remember. Bowen House is a restored Victorian guest house which offers a relaxing, quiet and friendly place to stay when visiting York combined with traditional warmth and hospitality. Bowen House is in a fantastic location, close to the City Centre and amenities with free off street parking covered by cctv. We have five comfortable bedrooms, four ensuite and one with its own private bathroom. Start your day off with a hearty breakfast served in our airy conservatory and linger over a cup of fresh coffee and decide how to spend your day. York is renowned for its long history and the city walls that surround York are some of the finest and most complete in the country. Combining its history with a vibrant city centre offering a continental cafe culture there is much for you to see and experience in York. There are special events and speciality market days held throughout the year which will all enhance your visit. York Minster dominates the skyline and is only a ten minute stroll from Bowen House and remains at the heart of the citys top attractions alongside the famous Shambles and National Railway Museum. Both the Minster and Shambles are surrounded by cobbled streets and alleyways enticing you to explore and enjoy. York has so much to offer, a diverse array of shops including antique and book dealers, craft shops, boutiques as well as all the high street names. If you really want some retail therapy there are two out of town shopping centres at Monks Cross and McArthur Glen. The City has many shady squares, gardens, tea rooms and riverside bars, to enjoy a relaxing drink or bite to eat. There are many hidden gems in and around the City that will delight you. There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area you may need more than a weekend. Bowen House is an ideal base to stay longer. The North Yorkshire Moors, East Coast and Yorkshire Dales are easily accessible. The famous stately home of Castle Howard and National Trust properties of Beningbrough Hall and Nunnington are within easy reach offering you a wealth of culture, walks and amazing country side. | |
