Tom, Pat and Grandad are pleased to welcome you to join the relaxed and friendly family atmosphere at Oaklands. Oaklands is situated in one of the oldest towns in the Cotswolds dating back to 980 AD. Historically, Winchcombe was the capital of Mercia and boasts St. Peter's Church with its fine gargoyles, Sudeley Castle the resting place of Henry V111's last wife Catherine Parr and Hailes Abbey are amongst local places of interest. GWR, Prescott Hill Climb and Stanway Fountain (Britain's highest fountain and the world's highest gravity fountain), are within a few miles. Winchcombe lies on The Cotswold Way and many other enjoyable walking routes and Oaklands offers the perfect place for to rest weary feet. Oaklands is approximately 10 miles from Cheltenham a Regency Spa town of great character with its gracious tree lined avenues, parks, gardens and the famous Cheltenham Racecourse. The main house is circa 1900, which offers five bedrooms. A further three can be found in the annex, built in 1985. There is a passenger lift to the first floor and wheelchair access. Some independent living aids are available on request. Oaklands offers family suites one with bunk bed and one with a single bed. Travel cots, highchairs and a selection of children's films and toys are available. Full cooked breakfasts are provided for guests in the mornings. | |
