General Description | |
The Lansbury is a clean friendly local family run bed and breakfast accommodation. We took over in March 2004 and have fully renovated each room to a high standard. Whitby's skyline is dominated by the ruins of St. Hilda's Abbey, high on Whitby's East Cliff. Spreading below Whitby, a maze of alleyways and narrow streets run down to the busy quayside. From the old town of Whitby, 199 steps lead up to the parish church of St. Mary, whose churchyard on Whitby's East Cliff gave Bram Stoker the inspiration to write his world famous book, DraculaWhitby is situated on the Yorkshire Coast. To the south lies the coastal villages and resorts of Ravenscar, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. All these are well within a short drive from Whitby. We have 1 king-size and 4 superior super kingsize beds with double en-suite showers and 2 normal doubles with en-suite. All rooms have freeview television. We are based on the west cliff of whitby, which places it a five minute walk from both the town centre and the beach. Voted best customer serice by whitby hospitality association. | |
