Ventnor Towers is an elegant Victorian house built in 1872 and has been a hotel since the turn of the last century. It is situated in what is often considered the most beautiful location on the island. Standing in it's own grounds on the cliff-side on the southern coast, the hotel enjoys unrivalled views of the English Channel. Since Victorian times, Ventnor has been known as the Madeira of England, because of it's exceptionally mild and sunny climate, mainly due to the benefit of the gulf stream and the shelter of St. Boniface Down. The bar and restaurant, with panoramic views, are the perfect venue for enjoying a varied range of dishes, from single snacks to a five-course dinner from the daily changing menu, or to simply relax with a drink in the comfortable bar. The hotel is particularly suited to families with younger children. The Isle of Wights many activities are all within a short car journey of the hotel and for visitors on foot the islands excellent local bus service operates from the end of Maderira Road. One of the features of Ventnor is the coastal and inland walking and Ventnor Towers is able to assist visitors with both easy and difficult walking. From the local Botanical Gardens to Round the island walks all are available. Cycle hire is also available. Trips to sea for fishing or recreation from Ventnor Harbour are all arranged by reception. Ventnor Towers is open all year, and short breaks are available from October to May. Special rates apply to groups and children sharing their parents room. Dog's are welcome by arrangement.
