First opened in 1926 by Clough Williams-Ellis, the hotel is part of the famous Portmeirion village complex which has hosted many famous names such as Bernard Shaw, H.G Wells and has also been backdrop for many films as well as TV programmes such as The Prisoner in 1966. There are 14 rooms in the main buildings and 26 rooms and suites in the village, as well as 11 more in Castell Deudraeth. All bedrooms are excellent with great facilites. The hotel also has excellent public areas and has retained its original charm, with spectacular views over the coast that can be enjoyed from the first class restaurant.
