The Galloway Arms Hotel began in 1750 with it's original builder and founder Alexander Stewart, Lord Garlies the 6th Earl of Galloway. Originally a Coaching Inn the hotel now boasts 18 modern bedrooms, two bars and a restaurant. The hotel sits in the middle of Newton Stewart a quiet rural town in the heart of Galloway. The hotel has private parking and a drive in garage as well a secluded garden at the rear. All rooms are ensuite, have central heating, tea and cofffee making facilities and colour TV. There is a private residents lounge on the first floor showing Sky Sports as well as live football and other sports in our new and very modern Public Bar.
