.Black Combe House is situated in a small village facing the village green. There are 8 comfortable rooms, all en-suite with country views. There is a country pub nearby serving excellent food all home prepared using local produce. We also use all local produce and serve generous breakfasts. We always have vegetarian options and try to give you exactly what you like. On arrival we will welcome you with tea/coffee and home made cake in our guests' lounge so that you can unwind after your journey. All our rooms have flat screen TVs with Freeview and DVD players, hospitality trays, hairdryers and free access to Wi-fi and we have books, maps and booklets to help you maximise your time here. This area is less busy than the Central Lakes but is equally stunning and should you wish to venture there it doesn't take too long. The particular attractions of the Western Lakes are Muncaster Castle, the Ravenglass- Eskdale Railway, the Soulh Lakes Zoo, Wastwater and Eskdale, the Duddon Valley and the western towns of Whitehaven and Maryport,etc, all of which can be reached by a train ride along the coast. If you like sports you can golf at the coastal Silecroft Golf Club just 5 minutes away, or travel a short way up the coast to Eskdale Golf Club which is set in a truly beautiful valley. You may even like to walk up nearby Black Combe - whatever you like, the Lake District is sure to provide.
