Heddon’s Gate is hidden in a spectacular setting at the end of a quarter-mile private drive, on the steep slopes of the magnificently wooded Heddon Valley. This is an owner-run true country house hotel, secluded and tranquil, set in more than 2½ acres of its own gardens and woodland. Starting life as a hunting lodge in the 1890s, the hotel has expanded over the decades, and is now a charming fusion of different styles.
