General Description | |
Highfield House is in the Dartmoor National Park, half a mile from the centre of the picturesque village of Lustleigh. With a panoramic view across the Cleave to the moor and in a very quiet location, it's a great place for escaping, winding down and relaxing. This elegant house offers luxury Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a beautiful, tranquil setting. Highfield House is a newly built property sympathetically finished in local granite and red cedar, situated away from the quiet access lane, in its own grounds of over four acres and faces south and west. Many visitors are struck by the palpable silence at night and the absence of intrusive light. We have our own personal tor in the grounds! You do not have to venture very far to find lovely walks. You can follow the river along its bank to Bovey Tracey. There you can visit the Devon guild of Craftsmen, a wonderful collection of art and crafts in the Southwest. You could make it a circular walk and have a well deserved delicious tea in the Primrose Tearoom back in the village. There are many places of interest within easy distance including National Trust properties, delightful gardens, and historic houses. Most particularly, it is the wild beauty of Dartmoor, the tranquillity and variety of the undulating countryside and the splendour of the coasts (both north and south) which appeal to so many visitors. It is possible to walk from the property on to Dartmoor. | |
