The Uig Hotel offers well appointed facilities and friendly service and has been awarded 3 star Scottish Tourist Board status. The Uig Hotel is a charming family run hotel located in Uig on the Isle of Skye. The Hotel is an old coaching inn dating back to 1831, with Uig House, a former Steading above the hotel, having been converted into superior accommodation as well. Uig is situated above Uig Bay on the Trotternish peninsula and all but three of the eighteen rooms offer fantastic views of the bay and surrounding area. Uig has ferry connections with both Tarbert on Harris and Lochmaddy on North Uist. The Uig Hotel is just over a mile from the ferry terminal and is therefore ideally situated to offer accommodation and meals for ferry passengers. There are opportunities for sightseeing, watching wildlife, sport, or just taking it easy in a corner of Scotland where life seems to move at an easier pace! Wendy is responsible for the high standard and unique menu in the Folly Restaurant. The restaurant has become known for its excellent seafood as well as exotic cuisine such as Springbok steaks. To avoid disappointment tables for dinner should be reserved in advance. The Uig Hotel bar has a cocktail/lounge bar with sun lounge and serves a full range of drinks, including some wonderful single malts, draught beers and the locally brewed Isle of Skye Brewery cask conditioned ales - the ideal place to relax over a drink after a hard day's sightseeing. | |
