A visit to the Dale would not be complete without a visit to Killhope Wheel and Lead Mining Centre, to sample the harsh reality of life in a 19-century mine, and follow the nature trail and see the Red Squirrels. Barnard Castle, Bowes Museum, Beamish Open Air Museum, Raby Castle, Hartlepool, Hexham, Hadrian's Wall, Diggerland,and the Metro Centre are all a short drive away. The bedrooms are south facing with some stunning views of Weardale and the Elephant trees.
