General Description

Elens Castle Hotel Dolwyddelan DolwyddelanSet in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, originally owned by Baron Gwydir and then the Earl of Ancaster, Elen's Castle Hotel was once an 18th century coaching inn. Whilst retaining its historical charm and many original features, it is now a fully modernised hotel in a peaceful, village setting away from the crush of tourists.
Our rooms are all ensuite, have a beverage tray, hairdryer, TV and room service is available. Some rooms have fantastic views of the Lledr River and valley.

You can dine in our Siabod Restaurant or simply relax with a drink next to the wood-burning stove in our quaint bar.

You can visit Elen's Well (Ffynnon Elen) which can be reached by path through the hotel garden. It is reputed to have healing properties!

You are assured of the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel.

The surrounding area is particularly good for castles and outdoor activities, whether you are looking for dramatic high peaks or beautiful riverside rambles. We will dry your boots and waterproofs for you if you get caught in the rain (yes, it does rain in Snowdonia sometimes!). You can plan your day's activities using the extensive selection of maps and books provided in our guests' lounge. Packed lunches are available, and we will gladly fill your flasks free of charge.

The village castle, just a short distance away boasts breath-taking views of the Crimea Pass and the Moelwyn Mountains, towards Mount Siabod and the Denbigh Moors.

We have our own private car park.

A mouth-watering, delicious, home-cooked eating experience in an informal and friendly atmosphere in an historic building with views. Childrens menu available. Families very welcome.

The Siabod Restaurant is named after the mountain ‘Moel Siabod’ which is 872m or 2861 feet high and rises from the village. The main restaurant and the Garden Room enjoy beautiful views over the Lledr Valley.

Wherever possible, all our produce is locally supplied using the highest quality suppliers in the Conwy Valley. These include O.E. Metcalfe, a multi award-winning butchers; Llandudno Smokery who supply our fresh fish and shellfish from local waters; Tipyn Bach Chocolate Company who produce hand-made, fair trade chocolate and so on.

To compliment your evening meal, we have an extensive wine list to suit all tastes. Afterward, enjoy a drink by the wood-burning stove in our historic bar/lounge.
