The Red Lion is situated in the centre of Colchester and is less than an hour from London by train and within very easy reach of Stansted Airport. The Parliament Restaurant is set in an old banqueting hall, with plush reds and timbered beams throughout, providing a warm, intimate environment to enjoy freshly prepared and locally sourced cuisine. It is open for breakfast or a mid morning snack and guests can choose from an a la carte or table d'hote menu. There is also a great historic bar full of period features. Built in 1465 the hotel retains its original design of an old Coaching Inn. The exterior has a traditional Tudor frontage (as does the interior) and it is one of the oldest Inns in East Anglia and deserving of it's Grade I listed status.
