In the early 18th century Washaway court was an Inn built near a junction of 3 ancient tracks. The junction was marked by a Celtic cross which now stands on the green in front of the house, known as the Washaway Inn the sign depicted a woman at her wash tub with the words Washaway your troubles. For many years the petty sessions of the Hundred of Trigg were held on the first floor of the building, but the court was closed when the Inn lost its licence in 1890, Now a lovely country house hotel Trehellas is within minutes of Padstow, Eden project, Newquay, The Camel cycle trail, Port Isaac were Doc Martin is filmed, Charlestown and Fowey plus miles of sandy beaches around us.
