Hawkshead is one of Lakeland's most attractive small villages, with plenty of shops, pubs and cafes. Ambleside is one of Lakeland's larger towns with every amenity and is ideally placed as a centre with convenient access to all the many attractions of the Lake District. The cottage was built over 300 years ago and was once owned by Beatrix Potter. It is set in 10 acres of grounds bordering the lake. The garden and its furniture is yours to enjoy. There is a profusion of attractive plants, plus wildlife including red squirrels, deer and many birds. From the door there are walks over Claife and Latterbarrow. Also footpaths to Hawkshead and the Windermere Ferry giving access to Bowness. | |
