The hotel is situated in the centre of Tampere by the River Tammer, and close to a nice park with a fountain.
This historic hotel oozes atmosphere, especially in a country where the majority of hotels are modern and can be rather soulless.
The hotel is the third oldest hotel in Finland (1929) and has a prestige look reflecting its long history. It is a high city building with decorative plaster work.
Rooms do differ in size from small to large. All tables and chairs have been tailor made for this hotel and are of oak, featuring wine red and green royal colours with golden decorations. Walls are light yellow. Bathrooms are quite large and are decorated in white. All are in very good condition.
The hall has high ceilings and copper ornaments and curved pillars and here international cuisine is served.
The lobby is small with a low ceiling and beautiful decorations. It features a stone floor and walls as well as mainly dark wood and wine red colours. The lobby also features a great staircase which extends all the way to 7th floor.
