The construction of the impressive Parador De Leon started in the 16th century on the ruins of the 12th century monastery deriving from the times of Alonso VII. Juan de Juni and his school internalised in wood and in stone a glorious past, which combined with the artworks of Vela Zanetti, Lucio Munoz and Vaquero Turcio among others, turned this Parador into a living museum.
