In 2005, when the third generation of the family joined the business Mertxe and Jose Luis's daughter Maider and her husband Pepe the Conde Aznar became a three star hotel, having been renovated and expanded to a total of 34 rooms, each room different, well equipped and designed with every comfort. With the refurbishment came two further additions: the bar-cafeteria Calixto and the garden room, El Jardin de Cristal. The first, a cosy meeting place, which still maintains its ancient structure of wooden beams, highlighting the design of the bar, where a feature has been made of the antique eaves of the building and a magnificent coffered ceiling, also of wood. The 34 outward-facing rooms have all been designed to offer the maximum in comfort and relaxation .
