The White Nest, Granada is a good place to stay for backpackers and budget travelers in Andalusia. Great facilities and an excellent location near the city’s historic attractions make it one of the best Granada guest houses. The White Nest is a new guest house in a traditional 17th century Andalusian building that has been recently restored. Its south side has views of the Alhambra over the Darro River. The front desk is open 24 hours a day with a multilingual staff, which can arrange tours and store luggage. The communal kitchen has microwaves, kettles, and other cooking equipment, and the adjacent dining room seats 50. Guests can watch TV, listen to music, or join others for a movie in the lounge. There are also computers with internet access and a laundry room with a washing machine, a dryer, an iron, and an ironing board. The guest house is located in Granada’s historic Albayzin neighbourhood (sometimes written as Albaicin or Albacyn). This area on a hill on the right bank of the Darro River is the ancient Moorish quarter of the city. The White Nest is in close proximity to the Archaeological Museum of Granada (Museo Arqueologico y Etnologico de Granada), housed in the 16th century Renaissance palace called the Castril Palace. A 10 minute walk to the north of the guest house, up the hill, the Plaza of St. Nicholas offers stunning views of the Alhambra. The legendary Moorish palace and its counterpart, the Generalife palace and gardens, are approx. 2.5 km/1.6 miles from the White Nest, on the opposite side of the river. | |
