Choose the Comwell Kongebrogaarden to be your accommodation when you travel to Funen Island in Denmark, either on business or on holiday. You’ll enjoy your time at this first-class Middelfart hotel at the northern end of the town, right on the strait called the Little Belt. Originally built in 1990, the Comwell Kongebrogaarden has been updated and expanded, with the addition of a conference and banquet hall and 14 luxury suites on the second floor. As a guest, you are invited to use the indoor swimming pool, spa bath, and sauna. There’s also a tennis court, bocce court, and excellent trails for running or mountain biking. You can relax on the terrace overlooking the water or in the fireplace lounge. The Comwell Kongebrogaarden offers 2 dining options: a small exclusive restaurant with an a la carte menu and the larger Kongebroen Restaurant. The Comwell Kongebrogaarden is located along the Little Belt (Lillebælt in Danish), a short walk from the Kongebrogaarden Marina (sometimes called the Kongebro Lystbadehavn). The Little Belt Bridge (Gamle Lillebæltsbro), also called the Old Little Belt Bridge, is just to the north along the strait. A 2 km/1.2 mile walk called the Kongebroskoven leads from the hotel south through the Kongebro forest to the town’s cultural centre, called the Kulturøen (literally, the Culture Island) on the waterfront. The commercial centre is farther inland. Along the western edge of Middelfart are the 12th-century Hindsgavl Castle, not open to the public, and the Lillebælt Golf Course. | |
