THE HOTEL
The landmark Himalayas Centre is Shanghai's new epicentre of business and culture. Taking its inspiration from a piece of jade, its design pays homage to the ancient Chinese elements of Feng Shui, and symbolises unity, wisdom, prosperity and good luck. This icon of a new pulsating and electrifying Shanghai is the perfect setting for Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel. Step into our 16-metre high lobby and marvel at the display of 1,000 Chinese characters, spectacularly lit across the walls. They tell a 5,000-year-old story, the 'Thousand Character Essay', where each character has a unique meaning, epitomising the ancient and beautiful art of Chinese calligraphy that taught Chinese characters to children as well as the essence or moral virtues, cultural evolution, nobility and the pastoral life of common people.
In addition to Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel, the Himalayas Centre houses the 1,100-seat DaGuan Theatre, Himalayas Art Museum, a luxury brand mall and a 5,000m2 rooftop Infinity Garden. Rates are based on double occupancy. Charges for extra adults may apply and will be due directly to the hotel.
