General Description | |
Historic Hut Pointe, was built in 1944 by the first Premier of the Bahamas 1964-1967 , Sir Roland Symonette. Some of the notable features of this historic property are its solid stone construction, large rooms, vintage hand-made Bahamian floor tiles in the lower suites, interior ceilings and roof rafters constructed with rare Abaco Pine and mahogany decks on the east side of the building. Recent renovations include many eco-friendly additions to the property including low flush toilets, low flow showers and faucets, active and passive solar hot water heating, energy efficient lighting and rainwater harvesting. With its historic significance and new eco-friendly additions, Hut Pointe is truly one of the most unique buildings on Eleuthera and a great place to begin your vacation. | |
