Self-contained timber cottages nestled in rainforest, on a stunning 300-acre property overlooking Byron Bay and hinterland. Only 5 min drive (7kms) from the heart of Byron Bay, its beaches and historic Bangalow village. The cottages all have private verandahs overlooking the lake, heritage rainforest and rolling farmland. 1-bedroom cottages have a queen and single bed in the main bedroom, ensuite bathroom, and a fold out futon in the lounge. 2-bedroom cottages have a queen bed in the master bedroom and two single beds (and a single trundle bed) in the second bedroom. All cottages have high ceilings with fans, oil heaters, digital TV and DVD player. The kitchens have all the crockery, cutlery and utensils you will need for as long as you wish to stay. There is an gas cooktop or mini-oven with cooktop, microwave and fridgefreezer. Wood-fired BBQ facilities are also situated at various points around the cottages, farm and lake. There is a laundry with a washing machine, tub, iron and ironing board. The lake is suitable for swimming and there is a rowboat, canoe and kayak available free to use, with lifejackets provided. You can also try your luck fishing in the lake for Australian Bass. The cottages are rated at 3.5 stars and have ther own individual rainwater tanks for drinking water. Landscaped native rainforest gardens separate each cottage. You can spend your time wandering the farm, talking to the cows, goats and chickens, meandering in the rainforest, or walking up an old cedar cutters track to spectacular ocean and lighthouse views.(This one is a favourite of ours at sunset and full moon).
